The Apple appears throughout the later games constantly. They are said to appear in the forests in Pac-Man World. In most Pac-Man games, it is worth 700 points. In Ms. Pac-Man games, it is worth 1,000 points. In Pac-Mania, you can eat it for 4,000 points and a green one appears as a special fruit for 6,000 points. In the Championship Edition games, it is eaten for 1,600 points.

According to Pac-Man: The Official Cookbook, Pac-Man has no preference in apples.
