Maze Mode is one of the three main modes of Pac-Man World. The mode consists of 36 mazes (6 for each of the game's 6 areas) styled after the original Pac-Man, but often with twists.

Upon creating a new save file, 18 mazes (the first three of each area) are available from the start; these mazes function almost exactly like the original Pac-Man but with different maze layouts. The other 18 mazes are found throughout the levels of Ghost Island, and must be completed in Quest Mode before they are unlocked in the main mode; these mazes contain additional obstacles for Pac-Man to avoid, and are often remixes of previous mazes.

Completing every maze in Quest Mode, thus unlocking all 36 mazes, unlocks a mode called Maze Marathon, which has Pac-Man do all 36 mazes in consecutive order. Completing the Maze Marathon replaces it with a gallery of concept art, artwork, and other behind-the-scenes images.

4 4 Pirate Maze 4 98 Assorted Has the same layout as Pirate Maze #2, but cannonball-carrying parrots are added to the stage at various points; they will drop their cannonballs when Pac-Man passes them. This maze is immediately unlocked once Pac-Man clears Buccaneer Beach.
5 5 Pirate Maze 5 Corsair's Cove 115 Lemon Has the same layout as Pirate Maze #1; however, the entire maze is underwater (unique only to this maze), as a direct result of the Galaxian Door in Corsair's Cove leading to the maze being underwater. Because of this, Pac-Man and the ghosts move much more slowly than normal.
6 6 Pirate Maze 6 Crazy Cannonade 111 Melon Has the same layout as Pirate Maze #1, but four barrels are added at various points, blocking the path of Pac-Man and the ghosts. In the Japanese version, the barrels are absent, making it have the exact same layout as Pirate Maze #1 with no differences. In the remake, two parrots with cannonballs, similar to the ones found in Pirate Maze #4, replace the barrels.

10 4 Ruins Maze 4 Crisis Cavern 111 Strawberry Has a similar path layout to Ruins Maze #2, but with various paths added. At various points in the maze, there are spots where rocks will fall; should Pac-Man be in the way, he will take damage and will temporarily stop moving.
11 5 Ruins Maze 5 Manic Mines 100 Has the same path layout as Ruins Maze #3, but this time takes place in an area surrounded by lava. There are also now various points in the maze where fireballs will fall; they act much like the rock traps from Ruins Maze #4, but do not temporarily stop Pac-Man.
12 6 Ruins Maze 6 98 Lemon Is similar in path layout to Ruins Maze #1, but with some paths removed and with a different background. The maze is filled with spear traps unique to this maze; the spears will pop out when Pac-Man approaches one, harming him should he touch them. To safely cross these traps, Pac-Man must first approach the trap, briefly move the opposite direction away from it, then turn back when the spear retracts. The spears are absent in the Japanese version and the remake.

This time, there are two sets (green and red), both of which have separate on/off patterns; because of this, none, one of, or all, could be on at any given time.
18 6 Space Maze 6 Gimme Space 100 Apple Has the same layout as Space Maze #3, but spots where fireballs land are added at various points in the maze.

22 4 Funhouse Maze 4 Clowning Around 103 Peach Has the same layout as Funhouse Maze #1, but in the center of the maze, there are pathways with platforms protruding from the sides, blocking the path. The platforms will instantly retract should Pac-Man touch them; the ghosts and Fruit can freely float over these platforms however.
23 5 Funhouse Maze 5 Barrel Blast 104 Cherry Has the same layout as Funhouse Maze #2, but contains the same protruding platforms in Funhouse Maze #4.
24 6 Funhouse Maze 6 Spin Dizzy 97 Bell Has the same layout as Funhouse Maze #3, but contains the same protruding platforms in Funhouse Mazes #4 and #5; this time, they are located in a way that allows them to block off the entire center area.

28 4 Factory Maze 4 Perilous Pipes 101 Peach Has the same path layout as Factory Maze #2 but with a lighter background. As well, steam shooters have been added at various points, spitting out steam from the side every couple seconds.
29 5 Factory Maze 5 Under Pressure 112 Apple Has the same path layout as Factory Maze #1 with a different background. The steam shooters from Factory Maze #4 appear; this time they shoot steam from the ground, but otherwise function the same.
30 6 Factory Maze 6 Down the Tubes 119 Strawberry Has the same path layout as Factory Maze #3 with a lighter background. The steam shooters from Factory Mazes #4 and #5 appear for a final time.

33 3 Mansion Maze 3 111 Lemon Although this maze contains no additional obstacles besides the four ghosts, it takes place entirely in the dark; a shadow of light follows Pac-Man as he moves through the maze.
34 4 Mansion Maze 4 Ghostly Garden 129 Cherry Has the same layout as Mansion Maze #1, but the four lone squares in the corners of the maze are replaced with revolving fire-breathing statues. As well, this maze contains five ghosts as opposed to the usual four (a teal ghost is added alongside Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde); if all five ghosts are eaten with one Power Pellet, the fifth ghost will award Pac-Man 2,000 points.
35 5 Mansion Maze 5 Creepy Catacombs 109 Banana Has the same layout as Mansion Maze #3 (including taking place entirely in the dark), but there are now fire-breathing squares at various points in the maze. The four ghosts in this maze are all teal-colored, but otherwise does not affect how they work.
36 6 Mansion Maze 6 Grave Danger 106 Galaxian Has the same layout as Mansion Maze #2. There are no additional unique obstacles added, however this maze contains six ghosts as opposed to the usual four (two teal ghosts alongside the four main ghosts); if all six ghosts are eaten with one Power Pellet, the sixth ghost will award Pac-Man 3,000 points.
